MUTUAL AID REQUEST FORM TEMPORARILY CLOSED
there is clearly a great need in our community and we have been overwhelmed with requests we are going to focus on fulfilling current requests and then open the form back up again.
What is Mutual Aid? - mutual aid is a voluntary reciprocal exchange of resources and services for mutual benefit. Basically, when we practice mutual aid we are acknowledging that nobody in our community is expendable and it benefits the whole community when everyone has their needs met. Our Governments will not be coming to save us but we can save us, we only have each other.

The STAY Project and the Kentucky Student Environmental Coalition mutual aid fund for young people in our networks who are being displaced and put out of work by COVID-19. This fund will prioritize Black, Indigenous, PoC. LGBTQIA, disabled, chronically-ill, and immunocompromised youth.
When we have the funds available, we will be able provide up to $200 in aid to young people under the age of 30 in the network of the STAY Project and KSEC.
You don't have to be a member to apply, but you do have to live in their service areas. For KSEC, that is the entire state of Kentucky. For STAY, that is the Appalachian counties of Kentucky, Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Once you have submitted your form, you will receive an email requesting that you send a W-9 and your direct deposit information to stayproject@gmail.com. Once we receive those documents we will send it to our fiscal sponsor to be processed. Payments take a couple days to be processed but you should receive your payment in a week's time.
The STAY Project and KSEC are organizations run for youth and by youth and because of that we know firsthand how deep the need is in our community. We are going to try to meet that need to the best of our ability and we want to be as transparent as possible about the process. We welcome questions and only ask for grace and patience as we navigate this moment with y'all. We are in this together <3
Please contact Lou Murrey at stayproject@gmail.com if you have any questions.
In the meantime, if you are able please make a donation to the mutual aid fund here
