STAY For Dinner
STAY for Dinner are local gatherings across Appalachia that STAY hosts with the goal to gather local community, share a meal, build relationships, discuss the issues we’re facing as young people in our communities, and create plans for how we want to organize in our local contexts. It is a way we engage members throughout the year, introduce STAY to new people, and build relationships with young people in their home communities. Community members gain local connections and confidence in their capacity to be leaders in their homes!
STAY for Dinner is designed to be replicable in communities across Appalachia, made as an tool for youth to adapt in an effort to actualize better conditions for our people. The STAY For Dinner toolkit is is an organizing toolkit we created for STAY members to host local community dinners for youth to convene, connect, discuss, map, and plan the things we’re trying to change in our local communities.
The STAY for Dinner toolkit trains and empowers young people to carry out an organizing and planning process with the support of:
Clear methodology
Curriculum
Community activities
Everything folks need to host a local community organizing meeting and meal, because as Appalachian youth that’s where the real convo starts!
