STAY Studies

The STAY Project believes it is our collective responsibility as Appalachian youth to bear witness, tend to our collective grief, and to move in solidarity with our neighbors, community members, and with the people of the world in a movement against war, displacement, political repression, and violence and for a world of peace, justice, safety, and liberation for all people.

We know that this time of escalating violence is a time for STUDY and for ACTION. As STAY Project members affirmed at our 2025 STAY Summer Institute: in order to STAY in our communities, Appalachian youth need to develop ourselves as leaders through training and political education. We know that we need to continue building the understanding and skills to organize our communities.

That is why we’ve created STAY Studies, as a space to come together, learn together about the fundamental skills of community organizing, and put our knowledge into practice to build the liberated communities we need and so deeply deserve!
